July: Frances "Baby" Houseman holidays with her family, and falls for dance instructor Johnny Castle. (Catskill Mountains of New York - Dirty Dancing)

Sunday 25th August: The 'Jackal' attempts to assassinate Charles De Gaulle (Paris - The Day of the Jackal)

Monday 26th August: Hideo Hayakawa, Yoshio Yamamori's ally, attacks the family of his former boss Noboru Uchimoto, now an ally of yakuza boss Tatsuo Akashi. The Hiroshima Battle begins. (Hiroshima, Japan - The Yakuza Papers 3: Proxy War)

Tuesday 10th September: After a brief argument with members of the Makihara family, Hirono family member Kiyoshi Kawanishi drew his gun and pulled the trigger three times, misfiring each time. Thursday 17th October: The Gun Battle of Shintenchi: 2 dead, 3 critically wounded. After the wild public brawl turned deadly and directly threatened ordinary citizens, anti-gang sentiment boiled over. Pressured from all sides, the District Attorney orders the round-up of all yakuza family leaders. (Shintenchi, Japan - The Yakuza Papers 4: Police Tactics)

Sunday 20th October: Boss Tatsuo Akashi's residence is bombed; in retaliation, the Shinwa Group offices are attacked, and gun-battles also erupt in Hiroshima between Akira Takeda loyalists and Shinichi Iwai's men at Takeda's offices. (Kure, Japan - The Yakuza Papers 4: Police Tactics)

Friday 25th October: Shoichi Fujita, underboss of the Gisei Group, is shot dead by Hiroshi Yakuzi with the same gun Yakuzi received as a gift from Fujita; Yakuzi is apprehended that night. (Kure, Japan - The Yakuza Papers 4: Police Tactics)

Friday 22nd November: U.S. President John F. Kennedy is assassinated. (Dallas, Texas - JFK)

Friday 22nd November: After hearing of President Kennedy's assassination, Charlotte Flax kisses Joe Peretti in the belltower of the local convent. (Massachusetts - Mermaids)

Sunday 24th November: Lee Harvey Oswald, the suspected assassin of president Kennedy, is assassinated by nighclub owner Jack Ruby. (Dallas, Texas - JFK)

Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra fights King Ghidorah (Japan - Ghidorah the Three Headed Monster)

Godzilla kills Mothra and Mothra's kids defeat Godzilla (Japan - Godzilla vs. Mothra)

Auric Goldfinger initiates "Operation: Grand Slam," in which he plans to explode a nuclear device inside the gold depository. The bomb is disarmed by an MI-6 agent with 007 left on the clock. (Fort Knox, Kentucky - Goldfinger)

Denise Waverly meets and falls in love with Jay Phillips, who produces her song "God Give Me Strength". The song flops but Denise and Jay get married. (New York - Grace of My Heart)

FBI agents Alan Ward and Rupert Anderson investigate the murders of three civil rights workers. (Jessup County, Mississippi - Mississippi Burning)

Frank Bailey, Lester Cowans, Floyd Swilley, Clinton Pell, Wesley Cooke, and Clayton Townley are sentenced to years of imprisonment for violation of Civil Rights laws. Sherriff Ray Stuckey is acquitted. The mayor hangs himself. (Jessup County, Mississippi - Mississippi Burning)

January: Almas Beers becomes pregnant by Ennis Del Mar. (Riverton, Wyoming. - Brokeback Mountain)

January: Shozo Hirono's parole is revoked and he's sentenced to seven years and four months. With Hirono, Akira Takeda, Shoichi Eda, Masakishi Makihara and Yoshio Yamamori all serving prison sentences, the Hiroshima/Kobe yakuza feud comes to its fruitless end after 17 deaths, 26 injuries and over 1500 arrests.
