1973

The first genetically modified organism is created, a simple bacterium. Trask Industries unveils the Sentinel Program. Bolivar Trask says, "The mutant threat is the defining issue of our time. We can choose to stem the impending tide of extinction or we can stand by passively and allow it to wash away any remnants of our species."

Sunday 21st January: Orders from Trask industries to bring in Mutants are sent to Vietnam. This is later unsuccessful, as it results in Mystique, disguised as Colonel Sanders, stopping Major William Stryker and freeing Havoc, Toad, Ink, and another Mutant soldier.

Thursday 25th January: Peter Maximoff helps Charles Xavier, Hank McCoy, and Logan break his father, Erik Lehnsherr, out of the Pentagon. (Arlington County, Virginia)

Saturday 27th January: In one timeline, Mystique assassinates Bolivar Trask and is captured so that her DNA can be used to make more advanced Sentinels. In a new timeline, she is prevented from killing Trask. Magneto tries killing her to prevent a dystopian future, but Beast thwarts him. The three of them are seen by reporters. Wolverine leaves his past body briefly after seeing a younger William Stryker. (Paris, France)

Monday 29th January: Mystique thwarts Magneto's attempt to control the Sentinels to kill President Nixon and his cabinet. Professor X and Beast prevent Mystique from killing Trask. After being tossed into the Potomac River, Wolverine's future self returns to his future body in a new future. (Washington, D.C.)

Tuesday 30th January: Newspaper headline: "MUTANT SAVES PRESIDENT AND CABINET." Another article says, "Trask Arrested For Selling Military Secrets." Mystique, disguised as William Stryker, rescues Wolverine. (Potomac River)

1974

FCMA has findings that will provide grounds to create the Homeland Mutant Response Division.

The Homeland Mutant Response Division is established.

Saturday 18th May: Congress passes Homeland Security Act, deploying Sentinels to the most densely populated cities in the U.S.

1975

Charles Xavier appears before the U.S. House of Representatives in a private closed session, asking for mutant freedoms including integration and privacy. (Washington, D.C.)

1976

Bolivar Trask revolutionizes the world of prosthetics through DNA-generated artificial limbs.

The Homeland Mutant Response Division is established two years after the FCMA has findings.

1977

Carey Morrison starts hosting the conspiracy theory radio show What If...?

Athletics officials adopt a genetic testing policy in partnership with Trask Industries in which no athletes carrying the mutant X-gene can compete in professional sporting events. This occurs following the investigation of Pietro Maximoff, Quicksilver, who broke 8 world records in track and field events.

1981

Tuesday 20th January: A Sentinel is present at Ronald Reagan's presidential inauguration. (Washington, D.C.)

Gerald Ford is interviewed about the investigation of the JFK assassination.

1984

Popular televangelist minister, Bob Bell, and his organization, “The Human Majority,” champion a strong anti-mutant movement. Among their principles is the belief that disease is God’s curse for mutant integration.

1986

Peter Rasputin, who will later be known as Colossus, is born prematurely with a mutation resulting from the Chernobyl disaster. (Soviet Union)

Saturday 26th April: The Chernobyl nuclear power plant melts down, causing a spike in premature mutant expressions for generations. (Chernobyl, Ukraine)

1988

Imprisoned Erik Lehnsherr tells a correctional facility officer to visit the infirmary. The next day, the officer is diagnosed with hereditary hemochromatosis. He is reassigned since there is too much iron in his blood.

A few renegade mutants knock down a mile-long section of the Berlin wall in an act of protest, killing 23 people and injuring over 200. The protest alarmed citizens of West Germany, sparking anti-mutant policies. The Berlin Wall stands today and East Germany has been designated as a mutant zone. (Berlin, Germany)

1989

In partnership with Trask Industries, the FBI unveils a method of using DNA evidence at crime scenes to identify criminals. Off the record, Trask Industries also begins building a private Mutant Registry from this database of DNA, with plans to sell the information to wealthy world governments.

1991

South Africa ushers in an era of acceptance and equality, becoming a safe haven for mutants. (South Africa)

1994

Sanger, Gilbert and Maxam sequence DNA for the first time.

Genetically engineered food products enter the US market.

The Zapatista resistance, aided by mutant freedom fighters, engages in armed conflict against the Mexican government in Southern Mexico. (Southern Mexico)

1996

By this time, Trask Industries has produced 8,732 Sentinel Mark Is for the governments of the United States, China, Russia, Israel, Saudi Arabia, France, India and the United Kingdom.

An early attempt at the cure for the x-gene fails when animal testing goes awry, causing widespread sickness commonly referred to as Mad Cow Disease. (Southern Mexico)

1999

Tuesday 30th November: A Sentinel is present at the Seattle World Trade Organization protests. (Seattle, Washington)

2001

The U.S. Government contracts Trask Industries to build Camp X-Ray in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The Camp is a detention center for mutants dangerous enough to be deemed national security threats. (Guantanamo Bay, Cuba)

2003

Scientists with HGP publish the first complete map of the human genome.

2006

President works with X-Men to rebuild Golden Gate Bridge and relations with mutants.

2008

The U.S. erects a 2,000 mile long wall along the Mexican border. Politicians maintain that the structure is a necessary measure for the prevention of illegal immigration. Others contend that the wall is a last-ditch effort to contain Mexico’s growing population of mutant rebels. (American-Mexican Border)

2009

After a string of breakouts from Camp X-Ray by high-powered mutants, Trask Industries develops a collar to inhibit mutant abilities.

2010

Xavier’s School for Gifted youngsters closes. Trask Industries renovates the mansion into a research facility. (New York City, New York)

2011

To protest the billion dollar “mutant cure” arms race led by Trask industries, Yashida Corp and other multinational pharmaceutical companies, Occupy Wall Street marches from the X-Mansion to Zuccotti Park. Sentinels attack the peaceful mutant demonstration. In the ensuing chaos, Warren Worthington III, the mutant known as “Angel,” is killed. (New York City, New York)

2012

The CIA and Homeland Mutant Response Division release previously classified documents stating that the Cuban Missile Crisis was in fact orchestrated by a mutant and former Nazi named Sebastian Shaw.

Clarice Ferguson, Blink, is instrumental in smuggling 30 detained mutants out of Trask prison camps.

2013

Trask Laboratories unveils groundbreaking ability to create a hybrid gene with mutant DNA.

Ellen Marie Dodge recalls witnessing Erik Lehnsherr's actions during the Kennedy assassination.

Responding to the rise of mutant rebels, Trask Laboratories unveils the next generation in its Sentinel line — the Sentinel Mark X. Among the new model’s many upgrades is its ability to shape shift and physically adapt to environments.

Monday 25th November: A website called The Bent Bullet publishes an article and posts a video about the JFK assassination.

2015

Hank McCoy is dragged from his home and murdered by an angry mob of Human Majority protesters outside his home in upstate New York. (New York)

Dr. Gregory D. Burnett revolutionizes a method of growing synthetic stem cells.

Bishop, a Camp X-Ray escapee, builds a global network of mutant resistance dubbed the “Free Mutants.”

2020

Trask Industries announces Sentinel Mark X program.

2023

Sentinels attack mutants.

Shadowcat sends Wolverine's mind to the body of his 1973 self to prevent the dystopian future filled with Mutant-hunting Sentinels. Professor X later speaks to his past self. The temple is guarded by Magneto, Storm, Iceman, Colossus, Sunspot, Bishop, Blink, and Warpath, all of whom are killed before the timeline is altered. (China)

2030

If propagated without limit, mutation may result in the eradication of the homo sapien species by this year, according to Trask Industries.
