Thursday 15th January: Having received a temporary certificate of release from Dachau, Abbe Henri Kremer (aka Prisoner 25639) arrives in his home town for his mother's funeral. He is met at the train station by Untersturmfuhrer Gebhardt, the architect of a plan to exploit Kremer in order to drive a wedge in the Catholic Church. (Luxumbourge)
